It’s been over a year since the release of record-breaking Galaxy Note 10+ and more than 4 months since I bought it. I know I’ve arrived late to the party but still, I want to share my experience with this device because on paper it still blows the competition out of the water for most of the devices at this price range. We can finally say that it’s a thing of the past because Note 21 Ultra(Samsung just skipped from 10 to 20) is on its way and is expected to release later this year but it doesn’t change the fact that this is a flagship device and it has been on top of the food chain for a long time. It’s my first Note device and I’m completely in love with it.

Note 10+ comes with two different storage options i.e 256GB and 512GB both of them boasting 12GB ram and Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9825 processor depending upon the region you are located. The design has aged well so far with the curved display, a centre hole punch selfie camera that I don’t find much disturbing, sleek sides with a glass back, no huge camera bump and how can I forget the crazy colour “Aura Glow” honestly it makes the device look so futuristic and timeless.

Let’s talk about some of the key features of this flagship which you should keep in mind while buying one.

1.Camera: I would say this device has one of the best picture quality I’ve ever seen. The quad-camera setup at the back doesn’t disappoint at all. Although I thought there were three cameras at the back later I came to know that the one below the flash was also a camera(Depth Vision to be precise). The portraits in Live Focus come out to be stunning but there’s a drawback Samsung hasn’t still figured out how Xiaomi or Apple makes the background soft(I know it’s been fixed for the Note 20). It just lacks that fine detail, the area behind a subject would be perfectly softened but near the surface level, it just forgets to do the magic e.g legs of a person. There’s one more thing that I’m mad at and that’s the Live Focus again, you don’t have effects for Live Focus WHY SAMSUNG!! the rest of the camera interface is top-notch as always and one thing more, the ultrawide is fantastic… don’t believe me? just take a look at these shots from my trip to the hills.

2.Display: All of us know Samsung makes the best displays in the game and don’t come to me ranting about your mini stove resembling a camera module thing… that it has the best LED… man we’re talking about an OLED here YOU HEAR ME ??? an OLED on a mobile phone. Although Samsung has made this term a bit understated because we are seeing OLEDs since Galaxy S8 but still this display is drop-dead gorgeous and manages to put most of the 2020 devices to shame. It manages to keep up with the buttery 120hz displays but I think the option to go from FHD+ to WQHD+ makes up for the high refresh rate.

3.Stylus: The whole “NOTE” concept revolves around the stylus, a pen that slides seamlessly inside the body of your phone, not a pen that would spit ink when you flick it xD but a digital stylus that would give you the feel of writing on a paper as you move it over your 6.8-inch screen. There are a lot of uses of the S-Pen apart from taking notes but all of them depend upon you. I’ve heard a lot of Note users saying that they never used the S-Pen perhaps they never bothered to take it out try the gimmicks Samsung has put in it. I use it a lot because it’s the only thing that separates Note devices from regular mobile phones, you get a different vibe while using it, it just elevates the status of a simple task to something very special. Scrolling through the gallery is much more fun, slides and tabs are much easier to use while editing photos on lightroom, you can colour some blank drawings or even draw one when you’re tired of watching Netflix and want to bring out the Picasso hidden inside you. In short, a pen adds to this whole experience of high-end smartphones.
